In a quest to improve her health and fitness, Coach G began running at age 22. But it was an encounter with a group of runners—men and women of all ages—at a local community track that ignited her passion for running. Running with these new friends, inspired Coach G to explore long-distance running and, eventually, decided to complete a half marathon. From that point, Coach G enjoyed the racing side of running. To date, Coach G has completed over 100 half marathons and 42 full marathons, and a 60K Ultra Marathon With a passion for running, Coach G, aka, Gisela, loves sharing her knowledge about the art and technique of running. As an experienced runner, she has helped all levels of runners improve their form, increase endurance and/or speed, and understand the importance of cross-training. She believes that to get quality results one must be consistent and smart in training. Her main focus is on injury prevention. Gisela encourages runners to respect the distance and value the rest days. Coach Perez’s method of training includes hill work, tempo runs, track work, and mental motivation. She gains an understanding of the runner’s goals and then designs a plan that includes a variety of running, strength training, and stretching. One of Coach G’s favorite aspects of running and coaching is making an athlete’s dream a reality. Watching the progression of an athlete go from running a mile to completing a marathon gives her the utmost satisfaction because her passion for the sport has been passed on to the next runner. Coach G’s best quote is “Running is a celebration of the heart” because running keeps people healthy, energized, and youthful.Contact Information: via email: bxendurancerunners@gmail.com

Avid Bowler
4x marathoner
Embarked on running in 2019
Kathlean started running in 2019 in a quest to check off a bucket-list item (running a Marathon at 50). On a cold December day in 2018, she ran into Coach G. who took her under her wings to train her to accomplish that goal. She went from a 19:40 pace to 10:39 in less than a year and she quickly became a long-distance runner who has completed several half & full marathons along with a few shorter distances.
Upon realizing the health benefits that came along with that training, Kathlean stays consistent in putting aside time for running whether it is a training run or a race. Kathlean enjoys pacing all levels of runners and outside of running and bowling, Kathlean finds time to volunteer as a cook in a soup kitchen in the Bronx.

Hyasmine started running in high school when her mother insisted she plays sports. With no real interest in any sport, she picked the Cross Country running team.
Throughout the years whenever she needed to get in shape or relieve stress she’d always reached for her running shoes first. As a single mother with an energetic 5-year-old and a busy career in Finance, running is now a commitment she makes to her self-care.

Marathoner: Virtual NYC Marathon, 2023
21 years PSAL Athletic Director
During my freshman year of college I gained my first exposure to running, and have not looked back since. I was fortunate enough to compete in track and field at the collegiate level in a number of field events, including race walking which I’ve been excited to continue with the club. Though it’s been years since I last ran a competitive race, joining the club has given me a chance to pick my passion back up while staying active.
I look forward to motivating others to do same!
